What Is a Loan Against Mutual Funds?
A Loan Against Mutual Funds (LAMF) lets you borrow against your existing mutual fund units without selling them. Your units are digitally lien-marked in favour of the lender — they remain invested in your name and continue to be subject to market movements, but cannot be redeemed until the loan is repaid.
How It Works
STEP 1Check Eligibility
PAN + mobile OTP, takes about 15 seconds.
STEP 2Digital KYC
Fully paperless verification.
STEP 3Pledge Units
Choose which mutual fund units to lien-mark.
STEP 4Withdraw
Access funds as needed; pay interest only on what you use.
Things to Know
- Interest is generally charged only on the amount actually withdrawn, not the full sanctioned limit — confirm current terms directly with Volt Money.
- Your pledged units stay invested and remain subject to market risk; if their value falls significantly, the lender may require you to pledge additional units or repay part of the loan.
- Units under lien cannot be redeemed until the loan is repaid and the lien is released.
- Interest rates, processing fees, loan-to-value ratios, and tenure are set by Volt Money and its lending partners, and are subject to change.
